Water is the source of life

• Water is the secret of life in this universe and a main reason for its continuation. There is no life without water. The Almighty said :”And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe” (Al-Anbiya: Verse 30). Water is an inevitable necessity for sustainable economic and social development, and it is necessary for food production and human survival.

• Despite this, and based on international statistics, one out of every (10) individuals faces acute thirst and does not have a safe source of water, and more than (2) billion people, most of whom are children, women. The poorest families around the world, suffer from water shortages. They lack access to water and access to safe and clean water services safely managed. 

• Therefore, providing water for the needy and the poor was a priority for humanitarian voluntary, and also water charity is considered by Allah as one of the most righteous deeds  so Allah almighty said: “and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people” (Al-Maeda: Verse 32), And also the prophet may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The best charity is bestowing drinking water”, and also said: “He who digs a well of water from which you did not drink is a liver freer than a jinn, a human, or a bird, but Allah will reward him on the Day of Resurrection.

• One of the best ongoing charity that a person can do is to provide water, or to dig wells to bring water out to areas where there is no water in order for its people to drink. Some of the followers said: “Whoever sins are many, he should give water to drink”. Allah has forgiven the sins of the one who gave water to the dog, so how about the one who gave water to a person and kept him alive?
